THE BASICS:
New cadets start here!
Begin by finding out what the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program is all about!

If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact your element leader or flight sergeant, they are your primary source of information in the squadron.

Familiarize yourself with the chain of command to learn who's who on our cadet staff.

New & Prospective Cadet Orientation Course (Optional) (CAPP 52-9, formerly CAPP 50-9) New and prospective cadets need to know what the Cadet Program is all about if they are to be successful in CAP. This optional course provides a synopsis of CAP's history, missions, the duties and privileges of cadet membership, and a basic overview of the Cadet Program. Reference: CAPR 52-16, 2-2a.

You will need to complete two copies of CAPF-60 Emergency Notification. Keep both of them in your binder or with you during activities outside headquarters.

You will need to complete the Operational Security course on-line (OPSEC).

Then you will need to complete courses 116 and 117 and some basic FEMA courses to be qualified to particapate in Search&Rescue exercises and training.

You will receive other training and gain rank as you progress thru the program.
